Francis Henry Paget, Cazalet's wifes cousin, attended Trinity College, Cambridge University from March 26th 1858. Born in 1840, son of Henry Paget and Ellen Lakin of Birstall, Leicestershire. He married Edith Mary Higgins in 1865. In the 1881 census Francis Paget was listed as a visitor at Birstall Hall. He was a JP for Leicestershire and was a Lieutenant in Prince Albert's Own Leics. Yeo. Cavalry. Birstall Hall was sold to developers in 1923 and demolished. Frances Paget lived at The Lawns, Birstall (demolished 1936) which he extended in 1880. He also owned Paget's Cottages, Birstall (demolished 1965). These cottages were rebuilt by John Mansfield of Birstall Hall in the 19th Century, Francis Paget later, in a fit of pique, removed and bricked up the front doors. Paget was a local landowner and part of the political Paget family he was often described as eccentric.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Francis Henry Paget, of Birstall, in the county of Leicester, Esq., and Joseph John Fairfax Scott, of Mountsorrel, in the said county of Leicester, Esq., under the firm or style of the Mountsorrel Brick Company, at Mountsorrel aforesaid, was, on the 21th day of June, 1877, dissolved by mutual consent; and that all debts due and owing to or by the aforesaid late firm will be received and paid by the said Joseph John Fairfax Scott, and that in future such business will be carried on by the said Joseph John Fairfax Scott alone.—As witness our hands this 27th day of June, 1873.
