Lt. Alfred Paul Barrow Paget, E.G.A. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. The enemy put down a heavy barrage, but he remained with his section the whole day. One of his guns was hit twice, and all the detachment killed or wounded except two. He brought up a fresh detachment and kept his guns in action. His perseverance and courage under heavy shell fire greatly inspired all ranks.
In 1933, Alfred was living in Collie, 180 kms south of Perth, in Western Australia - this was reported by the Journal of the Royal Sanitary Institute.
Alfred was later married to Zoe Olive Evans.
He died in Wagin, a wheat belt town in the lower south west of Western Australia, near Albany. He was buried at Karrakatta Cemetery, a suburb between Perth and Fremantle in Western Australia.
